Open Hands, 2022

Eine geöffnete Hand ist eine zeigende Geste, eine einladende Geste. Die Handfläche fungiert dabei als Untergrund eines Bildes, das durch die Positionierung kleinerer Objekte auf der Fläche arrangiert werden kann. Die offene Hand zeigt und lädt zum genauen Betrachten der Objekte ein. Die offene Hand ist eine fotografische Geste. 

In der Fotoserie „Open Hands“ werden fotografische Themenkomplexe wie z. B. Beständigkeit und Vergänglichkeit, Mikro- und Makrokosmos sowie die Verschiebung der Perspektive in Bezug auf das Festhalten von Bildern verhandelt. Die Bilder laden dazu ein, das eigene Sehen zu hinterfragen, und die Wahrnehmung der Welt als etwas Relationales, und somit immer in Bewegung Bleibendes zu begreifen.

An open hand is a pointing gesture, an inviting gesture. The palm of the hand functions as the background of an image that can be arranged by positioning smaller objects on the surface. The open hand points and invites the viewer to look closely at the objects. The open hand is a photographic gesture.

In the photo series "Open Hands", photographic thematic complexes such as permanence and transience, microcosm and macrocosm as well as the shift in perspective are negotiated in relation to capturing images. The images invite us to question our own way of seeing and to understand the perception of the world as something relational and thus always in motion.
